Xavi, the manager of Barcelona, has stated that he has "tremendous faith" in Ferran Torres, despite recent rumours over the Spanish attacker's future.
The 22-year-old has struggled to find his best form for the Catalan club this season, registering only five goals and one assist in 23 appearances across all competitions.
Torres' current contract has more than four years left on it, although he has been linked to a move during the January transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are both thought to be interested in the Spain international, who has only scored twice in La Liga this season.
However, ahead of Saturday's league encounter against Girona, Xavi stated that he had "tremendous faith" in the forward, who will serve the final match of his La Liga ban.
He'll be suspended starting tomorrow. He's all right. Ferran is an excellent trainer. He is never defeated. "He is an example, whether things go smoothly or not," Xavi told reporters on Friday afternoon.
"He's a sure thing since he gives his all. I have a lot of faith in him. He doesn't have a goal, yet he trains hard."
Sergio Busquets' contract at Camp Nou is also up in the air, with the seasoned midfielder's deal set to expire at the end of June.
Xavi is anxious for the 34-year-old to stay at Barcelona, but has emphasised that the former Spain international will make the ultimate choice.
We haven't discussed his future in a long time; we did it a long time ago. He is regarded as one of the greatest pivots in history. Even though he is underappreciated, he is crucial to me. "I hope he feels strong enough to play on, but it's up to him," Catalan club head coach stated.

According to Reuters
Busquets was once again a prominent player for Barcelona during the 2022-23 season, appearing in 24 games across all competitions and recording one assist.
A number of MLS clubs are rumored to be interested in the midfielder, who has made 704 first-team appearances for the Catalan club since his debut in 2008.
Busquets started the Copa del Rey match against Real Sociedad on Wednesday, and he is set to start again against Girona on Saturday.
As of now, just one player has left the club during the January transfer window, Memphis Depay, who has joined Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, there have been no incomings, and Xavi recently stated that he is not anxious for reinforcements before the winter market shuts.
