PlayStation trophy.

PlayStation trophy seekers have petitioned for the removal of multiplayer trophies necessary for the renowned Platinum award.

Earning that trophy, whether we play on consoles or PC, is a satisfying sensation. Especially for those that have worked hard for them. However, some of those trophies, particularly those associated with multiplayer activities, might be very hard to get.

Take, for example, the online-only title Friday the 13th: The Game. This game's internet services were shut down on November 2020. While Friday the 13th can still be played online via peer-to-peer matching, the process of not only getting into a game but also finding people to play with makes trophy hunting a difficult endeavor.

Worse, what about awards associated with multiplayer-related DLC? You may have completed the original game, but DLC appears out of nowhere with a slew of additional hunting awards. This DLC may be uninteresting to you. However, if you are a serious trophy hunter, you will lose out on that coveted trophy.

Trophy Hunters Call for Permanent Removal of PS5 and PS4 Multiplayer-Related Trophies.

As a result, as reported by PlayStation LifeStyle, some ardent trophy seekers are appealing for PS5 and PS4 multiplayer-related trophies to be permanently removed.

Furthermore, trophy hunters have been noting the annoying multiplayer-related accolades on Reddit, which might prevent them from obtaining the Platinum ping.

Furthermore, as previously stated, certain trophies will be hidden behind a DLC purchase, while those that are only available online will be virtually locked behind a PS Plus subscription barrier.

However, in games that are mostly offline oriented, such as The Last of Us or Uncharted 4, multiplayer trophies should exist, but in a method that does not damage the platinum trophy." To be honest, it is an excellent point.

Unfortunately, no matter how accurate some of those arguments are, it's unlikely to pique Sony's curiosity, and multiplayer-related awards aren't going away anytime soon.
